Series > A Bout With Doubt: HOPE GREEN

Talk > Hope That Does Not Disappoint

“I hope…I wish…I want…I wait….help me to hope God.”

> Something In us wants JUSTICE…and HOPES it will come.

But let justice roll down like waters and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream. Amos 5:24 (NRSV)

> God promises justice and it is GUARANTEED…and in that I hope… and TREMBLE.

Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. Galatians 6:7 (NLT)

> I can have hope when I fall for God will RAISE ME UP…when I hope in Him.

Hope Hand

30Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:30-31 (NIV)

1Therefore, since we have been made right (justified NIV) in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. 2 Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory. 3 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. 4 And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. 5 And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. 6 When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.7 Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. 8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. Romans 5:1-8 (NLT)

> I can ANCHOR my life in a hope that encourages me.

Hope Anchor

Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath. 18 God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged. 19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. Hebrews 6:17-19 (NIV)
